JUTC Warned To Brace For Lawsuits

One trade unionist is warning the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) to expect several lawsuits in relation to its treatment of contract workers.

President of the Union of Clerical, Administrative and Supervisory Employees, Vincent Morrison, says the company has been abruptly terminating the contracts of workers, without any justification.

He says the union has been seeking a meeting with transport minister, Mike Henry, for several months to discuss the matter, but has been unsuccessful.

Morrison says the union will not stand by and allow workers to be placed at a disadvantage.
