Attorney Shane Dalling to head the Firearm Licensing Authority

Shane Dalling, an attorney-at-law, has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA).

The announcement of Dalling’s appointment was made by National Security Minister, Robert Montague, in Parliament earlier this week.

The appointment is to take effect in June.

Dalling will replace Dr Kenroy Wedderburn, who resigned from the post of CEO of the FLA last November. This was amid controversy over the issuance of licences by the authority, including an assertion that two persons were issued licences for a single firearm.

Montague also announced the appointment of Andrew Wynter to head the Passport Immigration and Citizenship Authority (PICA).

The minister noted that a long and exhaustive search was done for a new leader for the PICA.

The post became vacant after the expiration of the contract of the last CEO, Jennifer McDonald.
